Day 7: Pardoner in action

After sunrise this morning, we mounted our horses, and continued on our pilgrimage. Today, I rode beside a man named the Pardoner. The Pardoner was very different than anyone else I had met so far. He had worked for the church, and his occupation was selling indulgences as forgiveness for sins. He seemed like a kind man at first, but I later felt very differently about him. He told me how he made a lot of money by selling indulgences to many people at many different prices. I also learned that he didn't bother offering indulgences to the poor people, or to the sick people, because they didn't have enough money to make it worth the Pardoner's time. I then later concluded that the Pardoner was not concerned at all for the church that he had worked for. All his efforts were concentrated towards his own personal gain. The Pardoner had no concern for anyone else. He was truly a man after money. He was truly a man, I never again want to associate with.

Advice for the day: Practice what you preach.
